Abstract Portrait of Words

If I would be asked to describe myself
and my ambitions,
I’d describe myself as a candle.
A normal candle in terms of appearance
but equally odd.

For I’ll be a candle
whose flames could compete
a hundred swooping fireworks
yet whose wick
is so short
It would burn in the span of a second.

If I were to be a clock,
I’d be the one that
spins counter clockwise
with its numbers rotating backwards
as well,
but would that make a difference?
Though individually wrong
as a whole it is
peculiarly right.
